Santiago Reyes Villaveces

Santiago Reyes Villaveces is a Columbian artist whose work examines knowledge systems used to control and colonise nature. His work consists of drawings, installations (large-scale and site-specific), moving images, and sculptures. Santiago understands these formats as techniques to engage with systems of power and their contemporary materiality. His most recent projects take interest in today’s colonisation of space, reflecting on the limits of extractivism and the survival of life-forms—within and beyond our planet. Santiago’s works have been exhibited in solo shows or as part of group exhibitions in various countries, from Columbia, Brazil or the United States, to Spain, Italy, Switzerland or the United Kingdom.
